1. Speed: a number from 1 to 14
Speed determines the potential flight distance of the disc. A disc with a higher speed number will have less air resistance, slice through the air better, and achieve higher speeds due to lower air resistance. Fast discs are harder to control, so discs with lower speed numbers are more recommended for beginners.
2. Glide: a number from 1 to 7
Describes the disc’s ability to stay aloft. Discs with a higher glide number will stay in the air better even if the player’s hand speed isn’t very powerful. Glide is influenced by the depth and shape of the disc golf disc.
Discs with a lower glide number are more precise, but for beginners, we recommend more gliding discs as they can achieve a longer flight.
Turn: a number from +1 to -5
Describes the initial trajectory of the disc, indicating how much it deviates to the left or right.
A disc with a negative number tends to turn to the right, opposite to the fade trajectory (when thrown with a backhand). The closer this number is to zero, the straighter the flight path of the disc. Discs with a negative number are called understable, with a zero are called stable, and with a positive number are called overstable.
Fade: a number from 0 to +5
Fade describes how much the disc veers to the side when it starts to lose its initial speed.
A higher number means that the disc tends to veer or drop more quickly to the side, whereas a lower number means that as the disc loses flight speed,
it continues to fly straight and is more likely to land flat.
A disc with a fade number of 0 may have a straight flight end, but with a number of +5, it will have a sharp veer at the end of its flight.

RPM Premium plastic is durable, well-gripped, and opaque. It comes in various firmness levels and colors.
Our original soft rubber, OG, is as good as it gets to stop disc sliding on the ground and rolling away. Since our soft compound material (arguably the most flexible in disc golf) absorbs impacts excellently, with a bit of practice, it can eliminate some unlucky throws from your game. Not to mention, the especially vibrant colors help your disc stand out on the course and give each disc a unique appearance.
Our ecoFLEX rubber is made from vulcanized natural rubber and up to 30% recycled material sourced from medical industry production materials, such as rubber gloves or plugs. In other words, every 1000 discs we produce prevent 10,000 rubber gloves that do not meet production standards from ending up in landfills. Despite the use of recycled materials, it is extremely durable due to the strong and flexible nature of vulcanized natural rubber. It also offers excellent grip (think of a pink eraser or a new shoe sole) and is our firmest material, making it a smooth transition to rubber throwing while reducing movement.
Newcomer offers the same incredible grip and color as OG, but with a few key differences. The added stiffness provides support for disc movement when needed while maintaining enough flexibility to reduce disc sliding on the ground.
Our ecoFLOP rubber is made from vulcanized natural rubber and up to 30% recycled material sourced from post-consumer tire rubber. In other words, for every 10,000 discs we produce, we remove 130 used tires from landfills. Again, this isn’t your average recycled disc; our eco-friendly materials maintain incredible durability due to the uniquely strong properties of the rubber. It also offers excellent grip (think of your car tires) and with moderate sliding, reduces rolling while always being an environmentally friendly disc in your bag!

LEARN MOREDisc golf is an outdoor sport where the player has to throw a special flying disc into a special chain basket . It is played similarly to traditional golf, only instead of the ball hitting the hole, in disc golf the flying saucer, or disc borrowed from the frisbee , must hit a special basket.
The winner is the one who has hit his disc in all 9 or 18 baskets of the court with the lowest total number of shots.
of the game is not only the strength and technique of the throw, but also the strategy, a correctly made decision in avoiding an obstacle or choosing the trajectory of the throw.
Modern disc golf dates back to the early 1960s, but there is debate as to who first came up with the idea, but evidence suggests that it originated in Canada and the United States. In the very beginning, people threw the discus at poles, trees, water fountains, garbage cans and various other objects as targets, until they invented the chain basket we know today, which allowed the discus to be caught from different throwing positions. The sound of the chains when the disc falls into the basket is similar to winning the lottery, so players are very excited about this sport.
Disc golf in Latvia – the first noticeable disc golf activities began in 2008, when a temporary disc golf course was opened in Mežapark in Riga for one incomplete summer season. In the following years, the main promoter of the development of disc golf in Latvia has been the annual international disc golf tournament ” Baltic Sea Tour “, in which since 2009 one of the stages has also been held in Latvia. Baltic Sea Tour ” (BST) is a disc golf tournament organized by disc golf enthusiasts from Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia to popularize the sport of disc golf in the Baltic States and to attract more and more new players to this exciting sport. In 2017, ” Baltic Sea Tour ” changed its name and is now recognizable as “INNOVA BALTIC TOUR”. The popularity of disc golf in Latvia slowly grew and the first permanent course in Latvia appeared in 2012 in the Laumu Nature Park in Talsi. A year later, in 2013, the first Latvian disc golf championship was held.
Currently, there are more than 30 publicly available disc golf courses in Latvia, and their popularity has grown rapidly in the last three to four years.
Disc golf is one of the best sports because it is relatively simple and anyone can start playing it at any age.
At the beginning, you should familiarize yourself with the rules of the disc golf game and the essence of the game itself. The rules of the disc golf game can be found on the website of the Latvian Disc Golf Federation.
The next step is to familiarize yourself with the types of discs and what makes them different. There are short, medium, medium and long distance disc golf discs. Each disc has four main disc golf disc parameters : speed, glide, spin, or trajectory deviation, and fall, or landing deviation. All these parameters are of great importance, because it describes how the disk will perform its function or task when thrown correctly.
At first, all these parameters may seem a little complicated, but after playing even one game of disc golf, the understanding of discs becomes relatively fast.
To be able to take the first steps in disc golf and start playing, we recommend buying a ready-made starter kit . The starter kit consists of three discs – Puteris or short distance disc, Midrange or middle distance disc and Distance Driver or long distance disc.
Disc golf is usually not played with one disc because:
To play a game of disc golf, you would need several discs. A complete set would be to have a close range, mid range and long range disc in the bag.
If, after taking your first steps in disc golf, you like the game and have bought your first discs, special disc bags will definitely come in handy . Disc bags are different, they vary by manufacturer and disc capacity.
The next essentials are a towel to wipe excess moisture from the disc before throwing and a mini disc , which is a must for disc golf. A mini-disc, or so-called marker, marks the place where the disc fell.
Disc golf is one of the greatest sports because it is relatively simple and can be taken up by anyone, at any age.

Each disc has four main disc golf disc parameters: speed, loft, spin or trajectory deviation and chrisaille or landing deviation. All of these parameters are important because they describe how the disc will perform its function or task if thrown correctly.

Disc golf is not usually played with one disc because:
Each shot requires a different flight distance or distance.
You need to avoid different obstacles during the game and this is done by knowing the disc numbers or disc golf disc parameters.
If you play with one disc, there is a high probability of losing the disc in overgrown areas or thick
Velocity determines the potential distance of the disc’s flight. A disc with a higher speed number will have less air resistance, break through the air better, and have an easier time developing higher speeds due to the low air resistance. Fast discs are more difficult to control, so discs with lower speed numbers are more recommended for beginners.
The speed parameter is the main factor for categorizing drives.
Disks are divided into the following disk types by speed:
Discs with a lower gliding number are thrown more accurately, but for beginners we recommend a higher gliding disc as it will give you a longer flight.
A disc with a minus sign tends to deviate to the right, opposite to the landing trajectory (when thrown with a backhand ), while the closer this number is to zero, the straighter the basic flight of the disc . Disks with a minus sign are called unstable ( understable ) , with a zero sign as straight ( stable ) and with a plus sign for stable ( overstable ) .
A disc with a fall to the side number of 0 is possible for a straight end of flight, but with a number of +5 it means a sharp fall to the side at the end of the flight.
